Armstrong-Spallumcheen Parks and Recreation offered a friendly challenge to all minor hockey teams

A group of minor hockey players have embraced the holiday spirit.

Armstrong-Spallumcheen Parks and Recreation’s Fill the Net Food Drive offered a friendly challenge to all minor hockey teams to collect the most food by weight. The winner received a free ice slot in the arena.

“The association, collected  800 pounds of goods,” said Dean Zimmerman, North Okanagan Minor Hockey Association president.

“The winning team for this year’s food drive was the Atom Recreation Knights, with a dominating amount of goods donated. The Atom Development Team placed second and the Peewee Rep Team came third.”
