Toddlers hunt out the perfect tree

Day Care outing at Christmas tree farm in Coldstream

It’s a Christmas tradition – hunting for the perfect tree to fill one’s home with holiday cheer.

And it’s a tradition some children took part in Tuesday.

Brer Rabbit Day Care took the children up to White’s Christmas Tree Farm Tuesday, where all the little eyes sparkled with amazement at all the perfectly, trimmed trees.

Joyous laughter echoed along the hillside of the Coldstream farm as kids raced between the trees.

“I found one, I found one!” exclaimed little four-year-old Alex Glover.

Then with the help of Pat White, owner of the tree farm, the kids took turns helping to saw down their prized tree.

They helped their day care providers lug it down the hill, before propping it onto the tree shaker to rid it of any loose needles.

The final treat of the day came as the children huddled around a singing snowman figurine and sipped hot apple cider.
