The Home Building Centre ladies are dusting off their clubs and inviting golfers, good and not so good, in the area to join them for their ladies only golf tournament.

The eighth annual Home Building Centre Vernon Charity Golf Tournament is a fun golf event June 6 at Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

To date the tournament has raised $190,000 for the North Okanagan Hospice Society.

“It is just for fun, scores don’t matter to us, it is all about raising money for hospice,” said Daphne Coleman, office administrator at Vernon Home Building Centre on 27th Street.

The tournament is a Texas scramble, with entertainment, games at each hole as well as a live and silent auction and barbecue dinner.

There will be a heads or tails game to win a sapphire and diamond ring donated by Hagemann Jewellers valued just under $1,500.

A pre-registration wine and cheese event is being held at Home Building Centre on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. where everyone registering will receive 20 per cent off all in-store merchandise.

Spots are still available for individuals or teams up to five members. To register or for more information contact Caria at Vernon Home Building Centre 250-545-5384 ext. 100 or Brianna 250-545-5384 ext. 102 or e-mail office@hbcvernon.ca
