Tourney swings in trail support

Funds raised at the May 24 Gordon Dale Trail Golf Tournament will go towards the Kingfisher Interpretive Centre

Golfers can rally behind an organization dedicated to the environment and public education.

Funds raised at the May 24 Gordon Dale Trail Golf Tournament will go towards the Kingfisher Interpretive Centre.

“It will help the centre re-establish the trails that were destroyed by the mudslide,” said Judy Fischer, event organizer.

The 10th annual golf tournament will take place at the Mabel Lake Golf and Country Club.

“It raises money for walking and hiking trails in the Enderby area,” said Fischer.

Dale, who died in 2004, was a former mayor of Enderby and Regional District of North Okanagan director.

“He was a firm believer in walking and he loved to hike in the Mabel Lake area,” said Fischer, Dale’s sister.

Tee time for the tournament starts at 1:30 p.m. and the event also includes a buffet dinner, silent auction and prizes.

The fee to participate is $50 per person. To register, call Fischer at 250-838-0025 or e-mail judyfischer@remax.net.
