An agreement has been ratified between the provincial government and non-faculty staff and teaching assistants at the University of B.C. Okanagan.
The two-year agreement covers about 600 BCGEU members and includes two per cent general wage increases on July 1, 2012 and July 1, 2013.
“This agreement shows that the co-operative gains mandate is working,” said John Yap, advanced education minister.
The government’s co-operative gains mandate provides public sector employers with the ability to negotiate wage increases funded from savings within existing budgets.
