North Okanagan residents can lift a glass in toast and support key community services.

The Raising Spirits for United Way fundraiser takes place Feb. 19 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Vernon Recreation Complex.

“It will be great fun,” said Linda Yule, United Way executive director.

The public tasting session includes wine, spirits and food from Gumtree Catering.

Stutters Disaster Kleenup will provide rides home to event participants.

United Way supports more than 20 community programs for children, youth, families, seniors and those with disabilities.

Among the agencies that have received United Way support are the Enderby and District Family Resource Centre, the Family Resource Centre for the North Okanagan, Independent Living Vernon,  Kindale Development Association, the Falkland Okanagan Boys and Girls Club, the Upper Room Mission and the Whitevalley Community Resource Centre.
