The public is invited to take part in a special ceremony for a group of youth visiting the North Okanagan.

A total of 150 cadets will march in a parade today, marking the end of their two-week training at the Vernon Army Cadet Summer Training Centre.

Spectators are welcome to join the cadets and their families for the 11 a.m. parade which will take place at Building G-20 off Mission Road.

While at the camp, the cadets were introduced to communal living, an overnight field exercise, a summer biathlon, orienteering and they learned about the senior courses they can enrol in during future summers.

During the summer, more than 1,150 army, sea and air cadets from Western Canada will spend up to six weeks at the camp.
