The North Okanagan Valley Gleaners produced 13.5 million servings of food in 2023.

A charity auction showcase in Vernon is looking for items to be donated, which will benefit three local charities.

The online auction is hosted by Benefit Auctions, which will start on Saturday, July 27.

Charities that will benefit from the showcase are: The Salvation Army Food Bank, North Okanagan Valley Gleaners and O'Keefe Ranch.

The Salvation Army helps feed more than 1,100 people per month in Vernon and needs help to keep feeding the need.

The North Okanagan Valley Gleaners donates furniture to those in need locally, as well as sending medical supplies and 13 million servings of food per year to Ukraine, Armenia, Eastern Europe, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and others.

Also participating in the auction is the Historic O'Keefe Ranch as it looks to preserve the rich history and culture of the early ranching and farming era of the North Okanagan for future generations.

"It is so important to keep the ranch preserved, as it is one of the most important representations of the rich cowboy and ranching tradition that makes up such an important part of our local history," said O'Keefe Ranch's Jacob Jacott.

To donate an item, visit benefitauction.ca and fill out the contact form. All charities will offer tax receipts for the donated items.
