They can reminisce about good times, bad times, sad times.
They can think back to the Vancouver Canucks making their first-ever trip to the Stanley Cup final that spring, only to lose in four straight games to the New York Islanders.
They can recall how another Trudeau led the country – Pierre was the Prime Minister. And Ronald Reagan was his U.S. President counterpart.
And how about music? The top three songs were Physical, by Olivia Newton-John; Eye of the Tiger, by Survivor (Theme from Rocky III); and I Love Rock and Roll, by Joan Jett and the Black Hearts.
Chariots of Fire, with its haunting theme by Vangelis, won the Oscar for Best Picture.
There will be a lot the Vernon Senior Secondary School Class of 1982 (aka Yahoo 82) can discuss this summer at its 40-year reunion.
The one-day event is set for Saturday, June 25, at the Vernon Curling Club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The cost is $30 per person which includes entry, appies and music.

Those who haven’t registered are asked to do so soon so organizers have an idea of the number of people to expect.
“Please help us locate any other classmates by passing contact info to the email above or by sharing our contact info and/or Facebook page,” said organizers. The Facebook page is Vernon Senior Secondary Grad 82.
