The seventh annual Charity Classic golf tournament was a huge success.

The event at Predator Ridge Golf Resort attracted 132 golfers and raised $178,300 for operating room surgical tools

“Without the generosity of our sponsors, this impressive amount of money could not be raised,” said Sue Beaudry, executive director of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

“This is an important event for our hospital.”

The sponsors included Telus, Predator Ridge, Noble Outfitters, Tolko, Wayside, Black and McDonald, the Paul Docksteader Foundation, RBCDS, Silver Star Mountain Resort, Stutters DKI, Westwood, Okanagan Spring, Capri Insurance and Hillside Winery.

This year, golfers voted Gumtree Catering, Olive Us and Falcon Point Residents the winner of the best hole award. Golfers were swayed by a beverage served with chicken skewers and Asian slaw.

More than $10,000 worth of prizes was given out.

Team Buy-Low Foods was the low gross winners of the corporate challenge awarded in memory of Herb Paterson, one of the founders of Predator Ridge.
