Vernon residents can ensure their neighbours are warm this winter.

Sutton Lakefront Realty is once again gathering winter clothing through the Warm and Fuzzy Shelter Collection.

“This is the fifth year we’ve been doing the shelter collection, and all items are sorted at Howard House where local shelter managers gather what their clients need,” said Kim Hay, Sutton’s office manager.

“We love helping the community and offering such a simple way for residents to help us give back to those in need.”

Items can be dropped off weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning Monday at the Sutton office at 2749 30th St.

Realtors will also be on hand Nov. 9 in the Sutton parking lot between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to take your collection.

Among the items needed are winter jackets, sweaters, long johns, gloves, scarves, toques, blankets, sleeping bags and towels.

Cheques written to the John Howard Society will also be delivered to the agency.

“Thank you all for cleaning out your closets to share with those who may never know your name. No one should ever be cold in our community,” said Hay.
