Water week celebrated

Residents can take the virtual tour of the Duteau Creek water treatment plant

B.C. Water Week runs until Saturday and it’s an opportunity to raise awareness about protecting, conserving and supporting water resources.

Greater Vernon residents can get to know their drinking water better by taking the virtual tour of the Duteau Creek water treatment plant at www.rdno.ca/watertreatment.

“Learn about where your water comes from, the required treatment and disinfection processes, and what Greater Vernon Water is doing to supply its customers with clean, safe and sustainable drinking water,” said Jennifer Miles, water sustainability co-ordinator.

“Show your love for B.C.’s water resources by pledging to support investment in water services. Each day we all rely on clean, safe water to drink and wash, and to flush waste from our homes and businesses.”

Take the pledge at www.valueofwater.ca before May 31 and you will be entered into a draw to win one of three Whistler weekend prize packages from the B.C. Water and Waste Association and Tourism Whistler.
