WestJet is offering a flight as a prize at this weekend’s Vernon Golf Spectacular.

WestJet has delivered again for a local golf tournament.

The organizing committee of the Kindale Developmental Association’s Vernon Golf Spectacular (which takes place Saturday) is excited to announce that WestJet will help raise much-needed funds for people with diverse abilities in the community.

Airline employee Christine Neilson, a former volunteer with Special Olympics BC-Vernon, is the driving force behind the ‘gift of flight.’

The exclusive ‘gift of flight’ is a roundtrip flight for two to any regularly scheduled WestJet destinations. Winner of the ‘gift of flight’ can choose London, Los Angeles, Cabo San Lucas, Bermuda, New York, Boston, Cancun, Nashville …. the choices are endless.

The winner of last year’s trip used the flight to take her husband to Hawaii for their 20th anniversary.

“We are extremely grateful to Christine and WestJet for donating the gift of flight and what it will mean for the third annual Vernon Golf Spectacular,” said Cindy Masters, development officer with Kindale and volunteer on the organizing committee.

It isn’t too late to put together a team of four and join the fun on Saturday, June 10, at the beautiful Vernon Golf and Country Club.
