Tickets for all events for the 58th annual Vernon Winter Carnival will make a great Christmas present or stocking stuffer.

Tickets for the events will go on sale Friday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m.

The 2018 Carnival runs Feb. 2-11 with the theme of Carnival in Wonderland, presented by Fix Auto.

“It’s exciting to see how many people have run with the theme, whether it be Alice in Wonderland or Winter Wonderland,

people are really excited about it,” said Vicki Proulx, Carnival executive coordinator.

More than 90 events have been booked for the Winter Carnival, 27 of which will have tickets on sale Dec 1st.

“Returning favourite events do sell out quickly, so don’t be disappointed and buy your tickets early, they make great

Christmas gifts,” said Proulx.

There are 13 new events to Carnival this year, six of which have tickets for sale. The new ticketed events include:

* Mother Daughter Tea in Wonderland - Sponsored by the Village Green Hotel;

* Origami & Tea - Sponsored by Teassential;

“When we are choosing through the many suggestions of themes for Carnival, the discussion with the board of directors is always, ‘how will the community react to the chosen theme?’” said Carnival chairperson Deb White. “We are so happy seeing the new events and the different play on how each interprets Carnival in Wonderland.

“It will be interesting to see the many different costumes throughout the nine days of Carnival.”
