Writing contest looks at future city

The contest is in partnership with Okanagan Regional Library, the Allan Brooks Nature Centre and Vernon in Transition.

Children cast themselves into the future, to the year 2030, to a resilient, healthy and zero-emissions Greater Vernon. And their stories will be shared tonight.

The whole family is invited to drop in for a celebration of the Vernon 2030 Writing Contest at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre, under the covered picnic table area, at 7 p.m.

Children will read their entries which describe how they envision Vernon growing in the future.
