A city-wide art exhibit called Nuit Blanche will bring performance art, experiences and a disco to Kelowna on October 5.

Nuit Blanche is a celebration of creativity organized by the Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan. The concept for the event originated in Paris and Montreal in the early 2000s and has since spread around the world.

This year’s theme Through the Stitches, threads together an array of "artistic styles, mediums, and performances, each connected by the intricate fabric of human expression," said executive director Hélène Girardot.

Art stations will be set up throughout downtown Kelowna featuring illuminated visual arts, theatrical performances, and interactive workshops that "invite you to weave your own creativity."

The exhibits will feature both local and travelling talent and most events will be family-friendly and free.

The evening will conclude with a “silent disco” where the audience can don a headset and choose between three styles of local DJs to dance to.

Specific installations, activities, locations, and times will be released as the event approaches.

More information is and will be made available online at nuitblanchekelowna.ca, Instagram and Facebook
