As the sun disappeared behind the hills overlooking the idyllic farm setting, hundreds gathered in the open-air barn at Caravan Farm Theatre for their annual fundraiser Hands Up, May 27.
The fundraiser brought together live music of Sea Skull Hammer, a barn dance, door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and a live auction with third-generation auctioneer Brody Raffan.
“We did indeed meet our fundraising goal, raising over $17,000,” said Lisa Mori, communications director of Caravan Farm Theatre. “This is in large part thanks to Scotiabank Salmon Arm matching funds raised at Hands Up, up to a maximum of $5000. Caravan exceeded its fundraising goals on that night, thanks to Scotiabank Salmon Arm, the individuals and businesses that donated items to our auction, as well as the patrons who came out and supported the event.”
Caravan Farm Theatre is kicking off their summer theatre series with fan favourite The Ballad of Weedy Peetsraw, a bluegrass opera by Peter Anderson and John Millard, July 25.
