The Music at Mackie Summer Concert Series is back with an amazing lineup of musical acts for the Coldstream heritage house in 2023.

The season kicks off on Friday, June 30, with Clanna Morna, a Celtic trio from Victoria. They’ll be followed through the summer by Amy Bishop, Under the Rocks, Cole Bradley, Laurie Kerr and Bobby Cameron, and Josh + Bex—a diverse group representing several different genres of music.

“We’re thrilled to see a great mix of musicians who will make their debut at Mackie Lake House, as well as some who are returning for the second or even the third time,” says House manager Valerie Cherwoniak. “We love choosing musical talents who will have the crowd tapping their feet and offering a standing ovation.”

Music at Mackie has turned into one of the major season events at this 1910 Registered Heritage Site. It involves six outdoor musical concerts throughout the summer — each on a Friday night at Mackie Lake House — situated right next to Kal Lake.

Guests are asked to bring their own chairs, and are welcome to bring a picnic dinner as well. There is a cash bar and a concession for snacks. Guests can buy single tickets to each show for $40, available now at Ticketseller.

Mackie Lake House has also introduced a Punch Pass — new this year — to allow guests to buy a block of five or six tickets and save $5 off of each one. Since each punch acts as a ticket, the Punch Pass is intended to hold a lot of flexibility. It can be used as a season subscription to see most — or all — of the shows; the holder can use it to bring a different guest to the concerts of their choice, or it’s a great option to plan some date nights.

Punch Passes must be purchased through Mackie Lake House by phoning 250-545-1019, or emailing mackiehouse@shaw.ca. Sales end June 25. Passes are not transferable, and require one Pass holder whose name will be associated with the Pass.

The full 2023 summer lineup is:

June 30 - Clanna Morna;

July 7 - Amy Bishop Music;

July 28 - Under The Rocks;

August 11 - Cole Bradley;

August 18 - Laurie Kerr and Bobby Cameron;

August 25 - Josh + Bex Music.

Mackie Lake House is a registered charity and not-for-profit. Their mandate is: To preserve and present the building, grounds, furnishings and related history of Mackie Lake House for the enjoyment and education of the public.
