Taking a break from the competition in the fields and arenas, BC 55+ Games players and volunteers got a taste of the Okanagan Thursday.

Downtown Vernon hosted a special social Thursday evening, blocking off several blocks of 30th Avenue as local businesses set up tasting booths, merchandise tables and information for the hard-working players.

Music filled the air as a couple of entertainment stages also featured local bands as well as some super-talented performers.

Everything from tribal drumming and tap to belly dance and Bhangra wowed crowds as they snacked on local eats and treats and took a reprieve from the Games.
