The Ghost Tours of Vernon return for the 14th year of spine-tingling tales for one night only this Halloween.

Host Gabriel David Sumegi Newman the 2nd draws on his extensive theatrical experience to entertain with stories of haunted houses, monsters, gruesome murders, paranormal anomalies and macabre historical oddities.

Newman, a professional storyteller and performer, created the ghost tours as a way of combining the art of storytelling with local history.

“You come for the ghosts, which there are many of, but you leave with a new understanding and appreciation for the history of the region,” Newman said.

Starting from the steps between the Vernon Museum and the former library, the approximately one hour, 21-minute tour runs Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. and then again at 9 p.m. As it is an outdoor walking tour that runs rain or snow, please dress appropriately.

Ticket price is $10 for adults and $5 for those 12 and under. No need to pre-register, but please bring cash in hand. Cash only will be accepted.

If you’d like to book a private tour for 20 or more, contact Newman at 250-260-8757, ghosttours@shaw.ca.
