East Asian cultures are being explored as Vernon celebrates Lunar New Year.

The second event in the Embrace the Nations series put on at the Elks Lodge with the Vernon and District Immigrant and Community Services Society.

Offering a taste of their unique traditions, Lunar New Year takes place Feb. 11 from 2-4 p.m. with games, origami, dumplings, Taiko drumming and music.

“After selling out our first Embrace the Nations event, we’re thrilled to be hosting Lunar New Year alongside the East Asian community,” said Elks secretary Dan Irvine. “Embracing cultures around us is so important in building a thriving and inclusive community.”

Embrace the Nations welcomes everyone to join in celebrating diversity and deepening an understanding of the rich cultures that make up our community.

Limited tickets are available at eventbrite, $20 for adults, $10 for children and $50 for a family.
