A man's Corvette summer was put on hold after Sicamous RCMP responded to a complaint of a vehicle doing donuts on Riverside Drive.

The driver had allegedly told the RCMP that he had been celebrating the Oilers' playoff win.

The complaint, involving a yellow Corvette with Alberta plates, was received by the RCMP at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.

Police located the vehicle and driver parked on Riverside with the driver and lone occupant on his phone, said Sgt. Murray McNeil in a media release.

"The officer immediately detected an odour of liquor on the breath of the 46-year-old driver while speaking with him," said McNeil. After being given a breath demand, the driver provided two samples that resulted in "Fail." The driver was issued a 90-day prohibition from driving and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
