Evacuation alert rescinded for Sugar Lake Road near Cherryville

The Sitkum Creek wildfire near Cherryville is now being held.

As crews work to contain the Sitkum Creek wildfire near Cherryville, an evacuation alert for Sugar Lake Road has been rescinded.

Properties no longer on evacuation alert include: 1616, 1622 and 1630 Sugar Lake Road. 

 Residents are reminded that although the alert has been removed, the entire province is still facing threat of wildfire. 

The wildfire is currently being held, and is 1,261.9 hectares in size.
