Orchardist responds

I am writing in response to recent articles with comments from those protesting farm worker housing in Coldstream:

Changing climate

Can we take this moment, standing with wet feet beside the sand bags, to recognize this unusual spring weather as our changing climate?

In response

With all due respect, I suggest Dean Roosevelt Google MP Elisabeth May and Lyme disease. At the federal level, she is dedicated to having a national response to Lyme disease.

Thank you

I want to thank everyone who had a part in saving my fiancée’s life.

Rail trail a good idea

A recent letter from Jocelyn Robb voiced her opinion regarding the Okanagan Rail Trail.

Development concerns

The advisory planning committee has recommended that Vernon council approve the rezoning of a property on 27th Avenue from R1 residential to RH1 low-rise apartment to enable the construction of a four-storey, 37-unit apartment block for low-cost housing.

Prepare for the future

We are now living in the 21st century and it is a new age in which climate change could become the largest economic threat to taxpayers.

Overdose crisis

The current overdose/fentanyl crisis is a horrible reminder of what happens when governments ignore research.

Road lines a problem

Yes, we should see them recently re-painted. And yes, we should probably expect them to last six months. Cities like Vernon are clearly not solely responsible since highways (provincial jurisdiction) are just as bad. It may well be that these short-lived road lines are federally mandated.

Kal Lake Road

The Ribbons of Green Trails Society was formed many years ago to advocate for linear trails and parks for non-motorized use in the North Okanagan.
