The Armstrong Spallumcheen Trails Society (ASTS) has been working on projects and maintaining the trails on both Mt. Rose Swanson and Thomas Hayes Ecological Park since becoming a not-for-profit Society in 2014.
Recently, the biggest project ASTS has undertaken has been to protect the 30 kilometres of trails and the many natural ecosystems of Mt. Rose Swanson from development.
To enable this the ASTS has been fundraising on-line (https://www.facebook.com/armstrongtrails/) and held a garage sale in June.
That same day, the ASTS was invited to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #35, Armstrong to receive a donation.
During this visit it was explained that the funds raised would be used to gather independent and accurate data on Mt. Rose Swanson, so that informed decisions can be made for the mountain's future.
The Legion’s unexpected and generous donation to support this endeavour is very much appreciated by the ASTS and its partner organizations.
