Note to Kate Hagmeier, geese coordinator.

On reading your article in the April 18 Morning Star the information seems a bit inaccurate.

I personally know Canada geese were nesting near Enderby in the mid 1940s.

My information states, early in the 1900s Canada geese largely nested in the Vaseux Lake area.

By 1928, 55 nests were reported.

The mid 1960s had many environmental changes which helped the geese, which are grazers.

The expansion of golf courses, city parks, playgrounds and turf farms.

A firearms clsoure came into effect in some regional districts at about the same time.

So, your problem is people, not imaginary stocked geese.
