Snowpacks are down and the population is up.
Everyone needs to be mindful of water use every day and not waste this precious resource.
We are surrounded by water and perhaps lulled into thinking it is abundant but streams and roots did not recover from last year and another summer of drought is here.
Grass will go dormant and revive. We need to get over our obsession with emerald lawns and public green spaces and stop wasting water.
We need to insist that those who are in charge of irrigating school grounds and parks make changes now and adjust those automatic sprinkler systems.
We need to be aware of the amount we use and educate ourselves and our families about water conservation.
