Recently I read your comments about the impending election and have a few thoughts to share.
You commented that the number of seats is far less important that the actions taken by the next government. Let me say that the number of seats area very important because if there are not enough seats that change, there will be no changed in what the governing party will do. We have had enough of the mismanagement of our economy to make that change very necessary.
You deal with the drug problem, which is horrendous and needs to be fixed. Free drugs handed out to users needs to stop and facilities made available to help these people overcome their addiction and become capable of looking after themselves.
On housing affordability, there needs to be more control on interest rates and money supply. Immigration needs to be put under control and dramatically reduced. Illegals needs to be deported. If the federal government refuses, our province needs to impose our controls as Quebec is doing.
Healthcare is very much an issue that demands our attention. Firstly, we have to rehire those brave nurses and doctors who were let go because they refused the jab. They also need to received back pay for the time they were off work. That would go a long way towards solving the shortage of those skilled workers. More money needs to be allocated and a serious review of procedures on how to improve care. This is not the place to be saving money.
Voters need to read the platforms of all parties and make a wise, informed choice. Ask questions of your candidates and vote accordingly. However, don't just vote if you haven't learned what your choice's policies are. Just voting for a party will result in a government that is as bad as our current federal government.
As you said at the end - party labels are far less important than electing a competent, effective government.
