Well Vernon, we did it again.
Two out of town BCJHL teams came here to play regular season games recently and due to repairs required to the ice plant for Kal Tire Place main arena, a backup arena was used in the same complex.
Surprise, surprise the ice managers couldn't put a quality product under the skates of players so the fans could watch these young men play at their best.
Unfrozen water well into half way through each period, never mind what it was like at puck drop starting each period, players falling, passes going off in all directions, pucks bouncing like tennis balls, and you can't stick handle through puddles.
Don't give excuses like it was 18 degrees outside that day and the stands were almost full of fans creating heat, both of which are predictable events, just watch the news for a weather report if you are not sure, and ask Viper management on how ticket sales are going.
Everyone worked their tails off to try and put on the best show possible considering the circumstances.
I believe the ice management team did not do their part, and that decision comes from somewhere higher up than the hard working boots on the ground people.
Come on Vernon let us make sure we put a quality product in the form of good ice in Kal Tire Place.
