Received my Active Living - Spring/Summer guide in The Morning Star.
Pretty exciting stuff - a lot to offer for any kind of activity!
Now I am a swimmer and a senior and at the beginning of the year - to my disappointment and annoyance - the fees for the aquatic centre have gone up - but what else is new when everyday you read the whole world is getting more and more expensive all the time.
But what really gets me is that the drop in fees for a senior is now $12 and a 10-pass is $108.
However, in Kelowna H20 Aquatic Centre - a world class facility with way more attractions like FlowRider and a 50-metre lap pool as well bigger facilities than what Vernon has to offer - the drop in fee for seniors is $9.75 and a 10-pass is $87.90!
And these price differences are similar for all categories.
Without any doubt it must cost way more to operate H20 than our pool in Vernon?
How many seniors and families in Vernon had to cut back activity and leisure which is essential for their health and well being?
Not acceptable!
