Armstrong fair tickets still available

Heaton Place and the Interior Provincial Exhibition are releasing a further 100 discounted passes to the public.

Heaton Place and the Interior Provincial Exhibition are releasing a further 100 discounted passes to the public.

That became necessary after the original offering of $5 tickets was snapped up.

“We’ve been totally overwhelmed by the demand for these passes,” said Kelly Brown with Heaton Place in Armstrong.

“They have been selling even faster than last year. It’s terrific that we can release more tickets because the demand is there and the seniors in our community are certainly deserving.”

Passes are good for any single day of the IPE, but may only be used by those 65 years old and better.

They can be purchased at the Heaton Place show suite at 3093 Wright St. Monday, Wednesday or Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

“Due to the demand, passes are limited to one per person,” said Brown.

Three weeks ago, the IPE and Heaton Place announced the availability of a limited number of discounted IPE passes for seniors.

“While demand for the $5 passes was expected to be high, nobody expected the passes to sell as quickly as they have,” said Brown.

“As of the end of the day Aug. 17, there were only a handful of passes remaining. With the grand opening of the show suite Aug. 20, Heaton staff members expected all remaining passes would sell out that day.”
