The Marv Machura Band is launching Vernon’s newest open mic series Thursday, Nov. 24 at The Outboard Waterfront Pub on Okanagan Lake, Vernon.
“There are a lot of talented performers in Vernon and great support for live music in general, but no regular pub-style open stage in town,” said Machura.
Anne Stewart, manager of The Outboard Waterfront Pub, is also excited about launching the series.
Each night will have a theme such as “love songs” or “Bob Dylan night,” she said. The first event’s theme is “Come Together –John Lennon remembered.” There will also be prizes and specials each night.
“You don’t need to play John Lennon songs, to join in the pub night on Thursday. Everyone is welcome, said Machura.
