As the fall back-to-school ritual starts for children over five, the Okanagan Regional Library is ensuring preschool children don’t miss out on literacy learning by beginning a new season of story times and special events at four branches throughout the North Okanagan.
All programs are free.
The Vernon branch will run several programs:
• Preschool storytimes are geared for three-to-six year olds and will run for 30 minutes every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:30 a.m., and also on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. These programs start Sept. 26.
• Toddlertime for children three years and under with a caregiver will be held Wednesdays from 11 to 11:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 28 and running until Nov. 2.
• Bring your PJs for Pyjama Storytime, held the last Wednesday evening of each month during the fall from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

The Lumby branch is starting Tots Storytimes for three-to-five year olds. The program will run each Friday, starting this week, at 10 a.m. until Dec. 9. You can contact the Lumby branch at 250-547-9528 or www.orl.bc.ca/branches/lumby.

All of these programs are drop-in with no registration required. All branches are closed on holidays.
