If you own a dachshund or a smaller terrier, bring them out to Falkland on Sunday for Earthdog.
This is a fun day that brings dogs out to try a new activity, and where they will show what they were bred to do and play games they will love.
The fun takes place Sunday in Falkland at 5490 Highway 97 N. Enjoy some fresh air, sunshine and camaraderie with fellow dog lovers while your dog “goes to ground” to find rats.
A judge will provide instruction and feedback, with five runs maximum per dog per level at $2 per run. Registration starts at 9 a.m.
Bring your lawn chairs; there will be hot dogs, drinks and salad available for lunch for $5, a 50/50 draw, a raffle table, and possibly terrier races or lure coursing, depending on interest.
Please note this is not a CKC-sanctioned test, simply a fun event for practice only. Organizers also wish to reassure animal lovers that no rats will be injured or killed in this activity: the rats used in the practices and tests are pets and will be well-protected in secure cages, as well as protected by law.
