David Crosby to play his hits in Kelowna

Legendary singer-songwriter David Crosby gives a solo acoustic show at the Kelowna Community Theatre Sept. 10.

Legendary singer-songwriter David Crosby has announced a series of intimate solo acoustic tour dates for September, including a show at the Kelowna Community Theatre Sept. 10.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 10.

With just his voice and guitar, Crosby will perform repertoire spanning his entire career, including new songs from his critically-acclaimed 2014 solo album, Croz, and his 1971 solo debut If I Could Only Remember My Name.

He will also perform selections from his bands, The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

“This is about the songs, the tale telling, taking you on a voyage to my world for a moment,” he said.

A two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, inducted with The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby is also in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In addition to his solo work, he still tours and records with CSN, CSN&Y, and as a duo with Nash.

He has written about his commitment to social activism and the belief that artists and musicians are potent agents for change in the book, Stand and Be Counted: Making Music, Making History/The Dramatic Story of the Artists and Causes That Changed America. He has also written two autobiographies, Long Time Gone and Since Then: How I Survived Everything And Lived To Tell About It. The latter, was described byEntertainment Weekly as “a fascinating life worthy of a sequel.”
