Dog ‘O’ Pogo shines at championships

Members of the North Okanagan agility club bring home ribbons from BC/Yukon Regional Championships

When members of the Dog ‘O’ Pogo Agility Club go the show, they go to win.

And at the recent 2017 Agility Association of Canada BC/Yukon Regional Championships at the Thunderbird Equestrian Show Park in Langley, six members of the Vernon-based club brought home ribbons.

Deb Hopkins with her Jack Russell terrier, Malley, qualified for the 2017 AAC National Championships. Vi Sucart with her Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever, Sophie, earned third place 10”DD Veterans Jumpers and also qualified for the 2017 AAC National Championships.

Sietske Rijnen brought three dogs: Brittany spaniel Flo, earning fourth place in 22” Regular Jumpers; cocker spaniel-cross Macha is the 2017 Regional Championships Winner in the 16” Specials division; and Border Collie Spark is the runner-up in the 26” Regulars division. All three dogs qualified for the 2017 AAC National Championships.

Sherry Therrien with her corgi Oliver placed fourth in Standard 1, fifth in Standard 2, and sixth in Gamble 2. Oliver placed eighth overall in the 6” DD Veterans, and also qualified for the 2017 AAC National Championships.

In their first time competing at Thunderbird Equestrian Show Park arena, Shelley Klein with her border collie-cross Ozzy came home with first place, fifth place and sixth place ribbons and also qualified for the 2017 AAC National Championships.

Brigitte Hole with sheltie Corey had an action-packed weekend in their first time at Thunderbird, with Corey competing in the competitive 10” DD Veterans division.

The 2017 AAC National Championships run Aug. 4 to 6 at the Thunderbird Equestrian Show Park.
