Erin Go Bragh! Ireland forever

Sally Evans and Molly Boyd bring their Songs of the Emerald Isle show to the Schubert Centre in Vernon May 22.

With the lilting tunes of Ireland,  Sally “O’Malley” Evans and Molly “Malone” Boyd plan to steal your heart away when they perform their Songs of the Emerald Isle show Thursday, May 22 at the Schubert Centre.

Evans and Boyd are well known throughout the Okanagan for their musical tribute to the songs of the Second World War.

A few years ago, the women put their  heads together and came up with another show, this time featuring songs so full of blarney they have Irish eyes smiling and so beautiful they warm the cockles of the coldest heart.

“Being Irish is more than a nationality. (It’s) a state of mind and that there is a little Irish in the best of us and not enough Irish in the worst of us,” said Evans, adding, “Tickets to the performance make a wonderful gift for your dear, sweet ‘Mither’ in celebration of Mother’s Day.”

Green attire is also welcome.

Tickets for the show are $8 in advance at the Schubert Centre and at the door if still available. Doors open at 1 p.m. and showtime  is 2 to 4 p.m.
