The Davison Family is celebrating Canada’s 147th birthday with patriotic pride.

Red and white is the colour of the day and the staff is going all out. Everyone is dressing for the occasion and giving their customers a chance to vote for the most patriotic staff member.

“It’s a fun way to celebrate the day and we have offered some great prizes as an incentive,” said Tamra Davison.  “We are not leaving out our customers either — we’re giving away jars of our farm  fruit topping to the first 50 families that come to the farm dressed in red and white.”

The Davisons are also raising a Canadian flag in style on a historical flag pole at 2 p.m. on Monday. The Davison family received a donation of a Tamarack flag pole originating from Hudson Bay Junction in Saskatchewan. Following the flag-raising the family  will cut a huge birthday cake prepared in the bakery to share with everyone present (while supply lasts).

The annual barbecue will also take place on the patio at Auntie May’s from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Orchard tours  on the Johnny Popper Apple Train will also run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come out and relax,  enjoy some free cake and celebrate Canada Day — July 1 — at the farm.
