The Bean to Cup’s Downstairs Gallery is hosting its next art exhibition with the combined works of Brigitte Red and Donna Mair.

From Photo to Fibre celebrates the intricate, colourful, and sometimes whimsical exploration of pairing two totally different art forms and artistic styles to produce one stunning art show.

A recent transplant from the Lower Mainland, Red now makes her home in Vernon. Recently retired, she now focusses on establishing herself as an emerging fibre artist.

“Everyone likes to leave their mark on the world. I like to make that mark by creating pieces that are visually appealing, functional and a tactile pleasure,” said Red.

Having moved to Vernon seven years ago, Mair is constantly on the hunt for her next inspiration. She divides her creative time between photography, music journalism and creating one-of-a-kind jewelry.

“I’m completely drawn to lines, patterns, textures, and contrasts in colour and subject matter in my art, and am having a great time learning new styles and mediums,”said Mair.

The public is welcome to join the artists at the opening night reception, Wednesday, June 15 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A portion of all butter chicken and drinks sold will go towards the Kindale Developmental Association.
