Despite the rain, the residents of Heron Grove retirement home joined with family, friends, and some members of Knox Presbyterian Church for their annual Canada Day festivities.

The day started off with a parade through the property and cottages of the facility with band music accompaniment.

A savoury carnival style lunch followed under the awnings with popcorn and slushies to complement the palate.

In the afternoon, the sunshine brought out more residents and guests for games, a petting zoo and even circus clowns.

“A special thanks to all the staff and volunteers who made this event a fun-filled day,” said Rev. Teresa Charlton, pastor at Knox Presbyterian Church.
