The Kingfisher Interpretive Centre Society (KICS) of Enderby invites everyone to come out and celebrate the return of the salmon on Aug. 6 for the annual Salmon BBQ Fundraiser.
Enjoy a gourmet salmon barbecue in a pristine outdoor setting along the banks of the Shuswap River. The Interpretive Centre is located approximately 25 km east of Enderby on Mabel Lake Rd.
Doors open at 5 p.m., which gives folks plenty of time to explore the award-winning hatchery and nature trails. The gourmet barbecue begins at 6 p.m. with an introduction and welcome from KICS representatives.
Following the dinner a special guest speaker will give a presentation on KICS and relevant issues in the Shuswap Watershed.
Only 100 tickets will be sold at $30 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. The event sells out every year so it is advised that you get your tickets soon. Tickets are available in Enderby at the Okanagan Advertiser, in Ashton Creek at Ashton Creek Store, and in Kingfisher at the Kingfisher Interpretive Centre and at the Rivermouth Marina.
Proceeds will go towards the centre’s award-winning salmon and watershed awareness education programs that touch more than 3,000 local school children annually.
