Vernon tenor and choir director Paul Moore guides the members of the KS Junior Kids Choir in a Thanksgiving performance at Davison Orchards.

From kids just learning to sing, to singers experienced in singing Puccini’s greatest hits,   a concert under the direction of Paul Moore offers something for everyone.

Taking place today at All Saints Church, the rehearsal/informal performance is hosted by The Kokanee Singers, who will perform along with the KS Junior Kids Choir and Inspirati Chorale, Moore’s advanced a cappella group.

There will be solos from members of the group who wish to test their current repertoire or just to enjoy the feeling of performing a song they have studied for a period of time. Moore will also sing two songs of his own choice, songs he enjoys singing.

Everyone is welcome to come and listen and get involved in the working aspect of the groups and to see the Vernon tenor’s approach to singing.

The KSJ Kids, The Kokanee Singers’ new children’s vocal ensemble, will sing two of their current songs. They are continuing to add new songs to their repertoire each week, and they will sing at The Kokanee Singers’ Christmas concert Dec. 9 at All Saints.

“It’s a balance between perfecting the music we already sing and trying new, exciting songs,” said Moore. “I want to connect with Armstrong area residents to share my plans to start a KSJ Kids group starting this November.

“I have been approached by parents of kids who sing constantly and have been asked if such a group would be possible.”

As part of the Christmas season, all three voice ensembles will take part in Light- up celebrations and The Rotary Carol festival.

“We like to be involved in community events, especially at Christmas.”

The informal concert/rehearsal takes place today at 2 p.m. at All Saints Church, 3701-32nd Ave. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
