Piano trio 3tissimo is celebrating its runner-up placing at this year’s Provincial Senior Chamber Music Competition at the Performing Arts B.C. Music Festival held in Penticton June 5.

The trio, featuring Enderby violinist Alyshia Black, Vernon pianist Melanie Shum, and cellist Mark Casson, of Spallumcheen, are taught by Vernon’s Ken Stromberg.

They are also second time recipients of the prestigious Kelowna Chamber Music Society Award, which is awarded by the strings adjudicator of the Kelowna Music Festival to a worthy chamber music group.

3tissimo has recently been asked to perform as the opening act for the celebrated Dover String Quartet when they perform for the Kelowna Chamber Music Society in October.
