Lynyrd Skynyrd headed to Kelowna

Quintessential southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd is coming to Kelowna March 19.

The band rose to prominence in 1973, full of regional pride and stressing cocky, boisterous hard rock and open-ended blues.

Their signature song, Freebird, complete with  its fiery five-minute, three-guitar solo, is easily the most requested live song in existence.

With a catalogue of more 60 albums, sales beyond 30 million worldwide, and their beloved classic, American rock anthem Sweet Home Alabama, having more than two million downloaded ringtones, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a cultural icon that appeals to all generations.

The rock and roll powerhouse continually tours, and is heading to Kelowna to play at Prospera Place.
