National holiday proves very entertaining

Vernon's Polson Park will amuse and dazzle the crowds for Canada Day

Local entertainers will shine for Canada’s birthday Sunday.

A full agenda is scheduled for Canada Day festivities in Vernon’s Polson Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The featured performers include the Sadok Ukrainian Dancers, magician Rick Shadow, Lee Dinwoodie, Rann Berry, Sista B, Brandon Schmoor, Raquel Warchol, Kat and the Tomcats, Melina Moore and the Kalamalka Highlanders Pipe Band.

Activities include facepainters, balloon animal creators and walkabout magic.

The Vernon Community Arts Centre will also be open to the large crowd in the park.

The official opening ceremony is at 1 p.m. with the national anthem being sung by community supporter Lori Hancock.
