Victoria punk band Durban Poison are bringing something a little stronger than the regular acoustic coffee house set when they play the Talkin’ Donkey Tuesday, April 2.

Reminiscent of The Ramones and Joan Jett and The Runaways, Durban Poison is a high octane punk rock quartet comprised of two women on vocals/guitar and drums, while the male fraction takes care of lead guitar and bass.

The band’s record label, Shake! Records, operated by vocalist Matti C, will also have all available cassette and vinyl releases for sale during the evening.

The band plays the free all-ages show at the Talkin’ Donkey, located next to the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 5400-24th St., at 8 p.m.
