Ryan Robson sees art where others might see items for the recycling bin.

This week’s instructor at Smarties drop-in family art program invites participants to take part in Recycled Sculpture, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“Using wire as our only connector, we will collect a bunch of old bags, bottles, and break them apart and put them back together to make a sculpture,” she said.

Registration is not necessary: just drop in for some fun. Suggested donation is $3 per person. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

A small snack is provided at the end of each session, which runs every Sunday with a different theme. Gallery Vertigo is at #1, 3001-31st St. Call 250-503-2297 for more information.
