Now in its fourth year, Roots & Blues pre-festival outreach project, Routes and Blues, will take place on the first two weekends in August, presenting new places to explore and things to discover in the Shuswap.
The public can join daily hikes organized by the Shuswap Trail Alliance, explore many local stops of interest enroute to fabulous community meals, and cap off the day with great live music at a Roots & Blues Festival satellite concert.
This year’s Routes & Blues schedule includes:
Aug 1, Mara Hall, Sherman “The Tank” Doucette; Aug. 2, The Red Barn in Sicamous, Doug Andrew & the Circus in Flames; Aug. 3, Falkland Hall, Sherman “The Tank” Doucette; Aug. 8, Kingfisher Hall, The David Vest Quartet; Aug. 9, Don Fink Memorial Park, Seymour Arm, Seal Skull Hammer and Roots Roundup; Aug. 10, Notch Hill Hall, The David Vest Quartet; Aug 13, Wednesday on the Wharf, Salmon Arm, 6:45 p.m., Jon and Roy; Aug. 14, Salmon Arm Music Crawl, multiple venues and artists.
