Seniors enjoy turkey dinner

We Care Home Health Services served up Thanksgiving dinner for its second annual luncheon at the Schubert Centre

More than 200 seniors did not go without turkey dinner this year, as We Care Home Health Services served up its second annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at Schubert Centre Oct. 4.

“It’s our way of saying thanks and giving back to the seniors in our community,” says Jennifer Strachan, marketing and business development manager with We Care. “Every event we do, I feel blessed knowing that many seniors don’t have a lot of family and friends around, and we bring everyone together to celebrate. There is no better way to reach out and to provide great meals, fantastic entertainment with Sally Evans and Molly Boyd and we also give away amazing prizes from all our wonderful sponsors and partners.”

Strachan said We Care would like to thank RBC, Canadian Hearing Care, Driving Miss Daisy, Orchard Valley Retirement Home, Shoppers Drug Mart, Valiant Pharmaceuticals, Okanagan Seniors Transition Services, Mary Kay, Sandra Bradley with ReMax, Catherine Gardens, and especially  the Schubert Centre.

“Without our valued sponsors and partners, none of our events would be as successful as they are,” says Holly Malfair, owner of We Care. “It is our honour to be working strategically with so many partners that want to give back to our community and we hope to offer these events for many years to come.”

The next We Care event is a Christmas luncheon on Dec. 20. Tickets will be available at the Schubert Centre on Dec. 17. If you are a business that would like to participate please call Jennifer with Aspire Strategies, 250-309-7573, or e-mail
