The Mackie Lake House in Coldstream hosts the Nov. 16 event Sherry and Shakespeare in celebration of the Bard's 400-year legacy.

The Mackie Lake House celebrates the 400-year legacy of the Bard with Sherry and Shakespeare Nov. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Bring your interest in Shakespeare, be it admiration, dislike, questions, quotations and enjoy a glass of sherry and Shakespearean theatre, music, period art and finger food,” said event organizer Sharon Lawrence.

The afternoon event at the Coldstream heritage home features a performance by the Seaton Show Choir, who will sing If Music Be The Food of Love by Brian Tate and will give a reading of You Are Quoting Shakespeare.

W.L. Seaton Secondary choir leader/drama teacher Lana O`Brien will perform Kate’s submission speech from the end of The Taming of the Shrew, while local musicians will play period music.

An open mic will also be available for those wishing to perform their favourite short Shakespearian quote.

Tickets are $20, available at the Ticket Seller, 250-549-7469, www.ticketseller.ca.
